Symptoms

• Your internet connection is generally stable and fast (e.g., you can watch YouTube videos just fine)
• Your singleplayer world loads fine and you can play in singleplayer
• Connecting to a server or friend is very slow and the world doesn't load
• Your friend may be able to see you move but you can't do anything
• You are on Windows

What's the Problem?

Some network devices (Intel & Realtek) have rare driver issues. Hytale uses the QUIC protocol, which is very modern and not always fully supported on all computers. This is a known problem that affects both Wi-Fi and Ethernet connections.

How to Confirm This Issue Affects You

Connect an Ethernet USB dongle to your computer and attempt to connect through that. If the problem is fixed using the dongle, the solutions below should help.

1. Open the Start Menu and type "View network connections"
2. Select the Control Panel link
3. Select the network connection responsible for your internet connection
4. Right-click and select "Properties"
5. Click "Configure"
6. Go to the "Advanced" tab
7. Select "Priority & VLAN" and set it to "Disabled"
8. Click "OK" and wait for your internet connection to be restored
9. Attempt to connect to the server again

Follow the same steps to access your network adapter properties, then:

1. Select "Recv. Segment Coalescing (IPv4)" and set it to "Disabled"
2. Select "Recv. Segment Coalescing (IPv6)" and set it to "Disabled"
3. Click "OK" and wait for your internet connection to be restored
4. Attempt to connect to the server again

In your network adapter's Advanced settings, disable the following:

• Advanced EEE - Disabled
• ARP Offload - Disabled
• Energy-Efficient Ethernet - Disabled
• Flow Control - Disabled
• Green Ethernet - Disabled

Click "OK" and wait for your internet connection to be restored, then attempt to connect again.

Warning: This is a more invasive change and may be difficult to reverse without reinstalling the driver. Only use if the above solutions haven't worked.
